The power industry drove emission declines, while both transportation and industry increase in 2023. Natural gas generation grew more than twice as fast as renewable generation did, year-on-year.
The EIA sees that in 2024 and 2025, power emissions may only fall by half a percent, increasing to 2.5% in 2025.
