Amherst County, Virginia officials are proposing to cap such uses at either 50 acres or 10 megawatts of electricity generated in the zoning ordinance.

The discussion came after a Virginia Senate committee carried over for a year Senate Bill 567, a measure that would have taken oversight of 50-megawatt solar facilities out of local governing bodies’ review and into the purview of the State Corporation Commission.
