Home / Solar Power / The winds they are a changin’ – new Commercial Solar Guy adventures

Friday, February 23rd, was my last day writing for Electrek. I’m now transitioning into writing for PV Magazine , while focusing on commercial and utility scale solar development work.

Since the spring of 2016, I’ve been writing for Electrek. It’s been really great over the last two years. Having the responsibility of communicating solid knowledge and on point analysis to 2.5 million unique readers per month was a challenge invigorating. Thank you to Fred and Seth for constant help in improving my writing and choosing what connects with readers, plus – of course – the support teams at the 9to5 group.

I really want to thank the readers of the morning energy brief – you, as a group, have constantly pushed back in the comments well – made me refine my thoughts – and helped me edit my posts. 🙂 You’re great readers – great debaters.

So, that was fun. Let’s get back to work now.

By John Fitzgerald Weaver

John Fitzgerald Weaver is a solar developer; known digitally as the 'Commercial Solar Guy.' As a project developer and installer, he’s sold and managed 50+ solar projects, valued over $25 million, ranging in size from 5kW to 1500kW. He’s been involved in many aspects of the solar supply chain –- as a company founder, developer, project manager, manufacturer, permit runner, salesman, contractor and financier. In his free time he tries to get away and clear his mind by climbing mountains, or more regularly by enjoying an IPA or scotch, and really loves the strange connection between politics, energy, finance, and environment in the energy world.
