sPower has been making headlines for all the right reasons: $421 million raised off of a solar portfolio, and gigawatt-plus equipment deals with single axis tracking and solar module manufacturers.

And the company, which claims the mantle of the largest private owner of operating solar assets in the United States, just got another 100 MW, 22-year PPA too sell more electricity from solar.

sPower is building the 100 MW San Pablo Raceway solar plant in Lancaster, California. The plant is expected to require 150,000-200,000 work hours during a 7-8 month construction period.

San Pablo Raceway is part of sPower’s solar portfolio in the Antelope Valley, which exceeds 600 MW. The company noted that this is its fourth PPA with a community choice aggregator in California. The company’s website notes it owns and operates more than 1.3 GW of solar and wind assets, with a development pipeline of more than 10 GW.

CleanPowerSF also signed a 47 MW ppa with a Mohave, California wind plant. The group says it is now serving clean energy to more than 80,000 customers in San Francisco (and counting).
