Meyer Burger – 410 watt, 72-cell module using 23.4% efficient heterojunction cells

Snuck down at the bottom of a Panasonic press release, Meyer Burger announced a a 410W solar panel with 23.4% efficient solar heterojunction solar cells. This panel reminds me of what was announced with SolarTech Universal late in 2017. That panel had a champion solar cell hit 24.02% - the overall panel efficiency was at 20.5%. Same product line. Last night I read the @TaiyangNews - 'PERC Solar Cell Technology 2018' presentation. Part of the document included a great list of the leading PERC solar panels. The broader document paints a wonderful picture of the different potential technology pathways of PERC solar cells. Seems like PERC based solar cells will hit almost 50% of global sales this year, and it might hold onto its position of leading technology from the upcoming, higher efficiency heterojunction because it has a few more pathways to squeeze more efficiency from the solar cells at such amazing pricing.
