Home / Solar Power / Your home is part of the energy playing field – power company rolling out combined solar + storage in private homes for grid stabilization

Your roof, and your distance from your energy usage are two valuables that can be monetized. By adding energy storage locally, along with rooftop solar production, the power company can balance out bumps in the grid better – bumps caused by the hot water tank and air conditioner often. All of this balancing costs money – doing it with systems located on your parcel, owned by the power company is good business.

This model is not yet viable in all markets at standard pricing…but it is creeping.
